GENERAL DESCRIPTION
11.30 meter X2K RIB Interceptor, is an advanced high-speed craft, extremely well suited for fast response interdiction, surveillance, patrol, law enforcement, counter-piracy efforts, search and rescue, or medical evacuations. This exclusive design was developed in Sweden, and is based on a double step ventilated racing hull. It has longitudinal underwater steps to reduce friction, and offers excellent sea-keeping, efficiency, speed and safety in all conditions.
With weather protection for extended day patrols, it is fitted with restraining style seating for 2 operators and 2 passengers. Forward of the console is a large open deck space for containing arrestee’s, troop or cargo transfer, carrying SAR liferafts, or fitted with fixed or removable seating. Optional Shock mitigating seats are also available, to decrease the risk crew injuries at high speeds.
There is a gun-mount forward, which can be supplied with adaptors to suit a range of weapons. It is also supplied with a roll-up, or fold-down swim ladder for divers.
The X2K RIB is designed to fit in a standard 40 foot cargo
container, ensuring fast, easy, safe and cost efficient
domestic or global transportation.
CONSTRUCTION
From the latest Vacuum Resin Infusion process, using all
vinylester resin and PVC closed cell composite sandwich
construction, with multi-directional, non-woven
reinforcements, and Carbon Fibre strengthening on the
full-length stringers. The core increases panel stiffness
and reduces the weight usually associated with solid GRP
boats. This offers great strength and robustness in the
event of a collision.
RIB SYSTEM
Made by Henshaw Inflatables Ltd, who are one of the leading
manufacturer of Inflatable collars to RIB builders both in
the UK and throughout the world. The X2K RIB Collars are
manufactured using heavy duty 1,500 g/m² Hypalon© coated
fabric, which is considered the best fabric for inflatables.
There are 9 separate compartments for added safety, with
automatic pressure relief valves.
If required the boat can be fitted with an optional Self
Righting Bag System.
ENGINES & STEERING
For simplicity of maintenance and operation the boat is
powered by twin outboard motors, with counter-rotating
propellers. It is capable of 50 knots with 2 x 250 hp.
The steering system is hydraulically operated and can be
upgraded with Power assist if required. All controls are
clearly visible and accessible.
