GANDIWA combat helicopters from Indonesia

To support the mobility of ground forces, often a viable combat helicopter for use. Therefore, combat helicopters were able to drop mental vigor and opposing force, given the ability to be able to combat infantry and military vehicles moving on land.

More recently, Indonesia initiated a development by making yourself a military helicopter which has keampuan attack. Besic is taken NBO-105 and BELL-412 are modified. Helicopter gunship was named 'GANDIWA'

Gandiwa a light combat helicopter missions suitable for clearing infantry opponents, attacking tactical vehicles, combat vehicles and lightweight block. In addition, Gandiwa will remain if in use for close air support.

Task modification and production handed over to PT Dirgantara Indonesia (aerospace Indonesia), which has a long experience in the manufacture of helicopters for civilian and military purposes. PT Dirgantara Indonesia Indonesia is a local company whose products have been in use many countries including the United States.

Much different from the BELL-412, Gandiwa has 2 crew with tandem configuration. At the front, sat a co-pilot who also served as a gunner. while the pilot sits behind a bit high. Model cockpit like this make Gandiwa has a slim body. For flexibility the attack, the nose dome equipped with a canon that is able to move freely, is certainly different from the plain BELL-412.

Maneuverability and high speed can still be achieved gandiwa, because the center is usually empty (used for prajujit the ride) has been removed, so in addition to slim, body became shorter and lighter (saving fuel)
